Greek National Opera

This grant supported the implementation of the Journey to the SNFCC program. The Program's goal was to allow the general public, and especially the younger generation, to get acquainted with the philosophy of the SNFCC, through a series of interactive and open events. The first two phases of the program comprised of the “Opera in a Suitcase” performances by the Greek National Opera (GNO) around Attica, film-making workshops, educational programs, readings by popular artists, public awareness campaigns concerning green spaces, debate contests, and organized guided tours to the SNFCC Visitors Center. The program’s third phase consisted of a new GNO production in an “Opera in a suitcase” format, a shortened version of Georges Bizet’s renowned opera “Carmen”, and the educational program “Collecting Experiences”, which had already been successfully implemented at the SNFCC Visitors Center within the framework of organized school visits.
